UCAS EXTRA EXPLAINED
The UCAS Extra process gives you a second shot at landing a spot on a course you're genuinely excited about.
So if you’re feeling like you've hit a bit of a snag with your uni applications, or want go for a different subject, or have only just discovered a dynamic hands-on film course like Screenology… Don't worry, it's definitely not too late to make a change!
Let's break it down, shall we?
1. When to Dive In: First up, UCAS Extra kicks off around late February and keeps rolling all the way to early July. It's perfect for those who've used up all five initial choices and find themselves without an offer, or maybe just haven't fallen in love with the options they've got, or have found a new course that feels perfect for them.
2. Taking It One Step at a Time: Here's the cool part – UCAS Extra lets you add courses one at a time. It's like getting a fresh chance to swipe right on a course that really sparks your interest. Found a match? Awesome, you can accept it and seal the deal. Not quite the one? No stress, you can pass and find another option.
3. Discover Hidden Gems: Not all courses may have spaces, but you'd be surprised at the hidden gems you might find. Universities and colleges often update their available slots, so keep an eye out for something that excites you. It's the perfect chance to follow a newfound passion or explore a path you hadn't considered before. Explore UCAS subjects now.

4. Making Your Move: Ready to add a choice? If you included five choices on your application, have received decisions from all five, and weren’t accepted, or if you have decided to decline the offers you received, you will be able to use Extra. Just hop onto your UCAS Track account, and if Extra's an option for you, you'll spot the way to add a new course choice. Fill in the details, and off it goes – straight to the uni.
5. Waiting for the Green Light: After you've put your choice out there, the uni will take a look and decide if it's a match. They might offer you a spot, invite you for an interview, or decide it's not the right fit. Whatever the outcome, you'll hear about it through your UCAS Track.
